It’s been 20 years since my last visit to Los Angeles.  My last visit was when I was stationed in San Diego while in the navy.  Me and my sailor buds used to come to LA and act like we were big time ballers.  My mom always told me, “fake it until you make it!”  This time I was here for a purpose.  To photograph Ijeoma and Bernard’s amazing wedding, thanks to Diann Valentine and Darryl Wilson.  During my stay, I dialed up a few of my dear friends Andreas Branch and Damon Haley.  The both of them showed me an amazing time, taking me out to the finest eateries in Hollywood as well as the jungle in Compton.  Damon took me to various places in LA that I never knew existed.  Then he took me to his and lovely wife Diann Valentine’s lavishing home.

Damon then educated me on some business and marketing tips that have made him successful with the Nike brand.  Every time he talks, it’s all about number, and BIG numbers.  He is truly a wealth of knowledge and I am truly blessed to call him a friend!

Andreas then took me to visit our dear friend and NSU alum Janeen Jackson.  She then took us on a tour of her school and was amazed with the photographic talent of her students.  Kelcey Newman was another dear friend I dialed up but unfortunately was out of town.  Kelcey, Janeen and Andreas’ friendship spans for three decades as we’ve all enjoyed success in the arts.  Andreas and I did some street photography, touring Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills.  I was like a kid in a candy store, photographing everything that moved.

LA, thanks for showing me such an amazing time.  Reconnecting with old friends and fostering the new relationships truly made my trip so special.  Special thanks to Candice Wright for assisting me with the wedding.  I can’t thank you enough.  Chip Dizard, thanks brother for bringing your, “A” game.  You crushed it!  Soooo blessed to have some amazing friends!

PS  Thanks Andreas for these awesome photos!  #Respect
