Here are a few photos I took at the fabulous ” I Do” production by Michelle Kilgore of Weddings by Michelle.  The fab event took place at the Renaissance Hotel in Portsmouth and featured some of the most sought after wedding professionals in the business.  Michelle, I just want to take the time to thank you for putting on the tremendous gala.  Mad love to all of the vendors who contributed their resourses and time to make this event so very special….

This week, I spend training with some of the world’s best photographers at the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas.  WPPI is the largest wedding photography convention in the world.  This year was special because I hung out with my cool Hampton Roads buddies as well as networked with some of the “movers and shakers”  in the game.  While I was there, I had the opportunity to meet celebrity photographer Bob Davis and his lovely wife Dawn, who photographed Eva Longoria and Tony Parker’s celebrity wedding in Paris.  I also spend some valuable time with Bob on a photoshoot in the streets of Vegas.  In addition, I had the honor of photographing Jen & Steve Bebb, voted “Top Ten Photographers in the World”.  It was truly an amazing experience shooting this dynamic couple.  It was truly a magical four days and the shot in the arm I needed to springboard my wedding season!!

I’m headed to Washington D.C. to document the Presidential Inauguration.   I will be back to share my experience with you all.

Earlier this week, my boy’s dream came true.  They met the Jonas Brothers at the Oceana Air Station before a capacity crowd of over 2,000 fans.  Brandon and Christian not only met their heroes, but got a rare photo opportunity with the pop stars!!  

On January 19th, I had the honor of photographing the grand opening of the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center gala. The festive event was to create awareness of Kyle and Pattie Petty’s, charitable organiztion, the Victory Junction Gang Camp. The Victory Junction Gang Camp enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering. The Camp was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty, in honor of their son Adam. Kurt & Eva Bush were the guest speakers and Honorary Chairpeople for the Armada Hoffler project. The Kurt Bush Foundation lends meaningful support for the betterment of organizations positively involved in the areas of health care, education, career training and rehabilitation as well as provides assistance to individuals who demonstrate need in these important areas of personal development. In benefit of the Kurt Bush foundation, J Records recording artist Gavin Degraw dazzled all 500 guests with his signature hits off of his new cd.

Julie Bernheisel, Director of Catering for the Westin, did a phenomenal job orchestrating the $300 per plate affair. Her entire staff did an amazing job keeping all of the VIP’s happy and never leaving a glass half full. I would like to personally thank Danya Bushey, Chris Harvey and the entire Armada Hoffler organization, for giving me this wonderful opportunity. Click here to view a slideshow of this five-star gala!
