Despite losing a nail bite 14-13 before a snow covered crowd of 69,000 at Lincoln Financial Field, the Army/Navy game was the most profound game I had ever photographed.  It all started when I arrived two hours before game time and stepped on the field.  I immediately got choked up in emotion as I witnessed military solidarity on the field and throughout the stands.  Even the Honorable Secretary of State Rex Tillerson took time out of his busy schedule to enjoy the military festivities.  As a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer who served 20 years in this great nation, this snow covered surreal scene was truly magical!  Army and Navy going head to head in the city of brotherly love with the Commander in Chief’s cup on the line!!! Here is how I told my story when winning or losing didn’t really matter…
