Nancy & Andrew, Princess Anne Country Club

Andrew Marscheider and Nancy Perry were married on December 31, 2009 at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach. Lori Ciccone of the PACC did a wonderful job coordinating the beautiful ceremony, reception and formal dinner. Flowers for the wedding party were by Wayne Jones. Lewis McGhee played acoustic guitar, and Megan Jenifer (accompanied by Miss Alana Thomas, niece of the Groom) played the wedding march on violin. Senior Pastor Michael Simone of Spring Branch Community Church officiated the wedding ceremony, which included a “unity of families by sand-blending element,” the special message of which is shared below. The Bride’s daughters, Miss Lydia Perry and Miss Marielle Perry were the flower girls, and the Groom’s son, Andrew Marscheider II, was the ring bearer. The Bride’s mother, Ms. Kate Barnard, was the Matron of Honor; and the Groom’s Father, Mr. Edward Marscheider, was the Best Man. The couple’s immediate family and closest friends shared in this very special celebration of union, happiness, and love. We hope you enjoy these pictures of our very special New Year’s Eve wedding night.

Unity Sand Ceremony
Pastor: It is the desire of Andrew and Nancy to extend their commitments to each other by making some promises to the children of this family. As you all join hands to form a new circle of love, we will seal this union with spoken promises like the rings this bride and groom have exchanged. Do you Andrew and Nancy, promise to be faithful, loving, tender and nurturing parents, always there for Lydia, Drew, and Marielle, not only providing their physical needs, but their emotional needs as well, always a good listener, a loving counselor and a friend?
Andrew and Nancy: We do.
Nancy: Drew, I want you to know that I love your father very much. I will not and cannot replace a mother loved by you, however I can promise you that I will love you and care for you as if you were my own. I promise to be a committed listener. I promise you my trust, to be fair, my support, what knowledge I can share, to be your friend, and to provide a shoulder to cry on. I promise to be available to you as I am to your father.

Pastor to Children: Do you accept the promises made by Andrew and Nancy?
Children: We do. Children then blend sand from three parts to one.
Pastor: The blending of this sand signifies the union of this new and permanent family. May a kind God now bless you all as family, and bless this marriage and your home, wherever you may be. And so it is.
