Most of the time, I see things that only I can see.  That’s what makes photography so special!!!!!!!!!!

Pam Hopkins is truly the best at what she does.  She selects the models, contracts the hair & makeup artist, scouts locations, fitting with models, writes articles, etc.  This girl is baaaaaaaaaaad!!!!!!

Pam selected Sara for this  production because of her beauty, versatility and attitude.  Pam, nice pick!!!!!!!!!

Whatever it takes to get the shot, that’s what I’m willing to do.  In order to capture great images, you have to be willing to take risks.

Dave and I make a great team.  He comes up with the vision and then I put it in motion.  We feed off each other for inspiration and ideas. More importantly, he pays for the power sushi lunches!!  He truly is one of the best creative minds in the game.

What a way to start off my 2010 season by shooting the COVER  of  Hampton Roads Bride Magazine!!!!!!    Just want to take the time to thank Edtor in Chief, Melissa Stewart, Art Director David Uhrin,  Fashion Stylist and Coordinator Pam Hopkins and Asst. Editor Ashley Schaefer for assembling this awesome production.  Special thanks to hair and makeup extraordinaire Elizabeth Paschall and her design team for their hard work and effort in transforming our lovely cover model.  But last and certainly not least, our lovely cover model Sarah Busby for embracing us all with her astonishing beauty.  Come on out to the Hampton Roads Bridal Extravaganza on January 10th to get a copy of the magazine which also features Melissa and Stephen Stewart “Dream Wedding” in Williamsburg!!!!!!!  I was truly honored to photograph the Editor and Chief’s wedding as well.  Good times ahead in 2010!!!!!!!!!

I am honored to be featured in this issue of Virginia Bride Magazine.   .  I photographed the cover and the fashion issue at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk.  Special thanks to Pure English for providing the lovely gowns, Isha Foss for beautiful floral decor, Mia Byrd for the fab backdrop and Carly for the fabulous makeovers.  Angeline, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your vision.  I look forward in working with you on future projects!!

My camera vest allows me to carry multiple lenses and other handy gadgets. Photographers, if you don’t have one, I recommend that you get one. This is a “must have”.

My Lowepro backpack allows me to fit all of my equipment as well as my laptop. The wheels allow me to move around effortlessly in the airport. The size barely meets carry on requirements.

I bring along my Macbook Pro with two extra batteries to enjoy movies on the 8 hr flight and download images as a safety precaution.

I shoot everything in raw mode. 50 gigs is plenty considering I will have my
Macbook Pro with an external harddrive.

I like to bring portable studio lights for breath-taking portraits. I pack my lights with my check in luggage. It’s always to a good idea to bring extra lights to create cool effects

You can never have enough battery power while you are on the road.

In a nutshell, this is all of the equipment that I bring. As you can see, I
have the 16-35L 2.8, 24L 1.4, 24-70L 2.8, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 100mm macro, 135L 2.0, 70-200L 2.8IS, two Canon 5D bodies w/ battery grips, turbo 2×2 batteries, chargers, cleaning kit, wireless network card, portable q-flash on a monopod, pocketwizard transceivers, etc.

Don’t be afraid to take risks. Get them in the water and have fun!!
