Whatever it takes to get the shot, that’s what I’m willing to do. In order to capture great images, you have to be willing to take risks.
Dave and I make a great team. He comes up with the vision and then I put it in motion. We feed off each other for inspiration and ideas. More importantly, he pays for the power sushi lunches!! He truly is one of the best creative minds in the game.

What a way to start off my 2010 season by shooting the COVER of Hampton Roads Bride Magazine!!!!!! Just want to take the time to thank Edtor in Chief, Melissa Stewart, Art Director David Uhrin, Fashion Stylist and Coordinator Pam Hopkins and Asst. Editor Ashley Schaefer for assembling this awesome production. Special thanks to hair and makeup extraordinaire Elizabeth Paschall and her design team for their hard work and effort in transforming our lovely cover model. But last and certainly not least, our lovely cover model Sarah Busby for embracing us all with her astonishing beauty. Come on out to the Hampton Roads Bridal Extravaganza on January 10th to get a copy of the magazine which also features Melissa and Stephen Stewart “Dream Wedding” in Williamsburg!!!!!!! I was truly honored to photograph the Editor and Chief’s wedding as well. Good times ahead in 2010!!!!!!!!!
I received a surprise phone call this week from The Knot informing me that I am a winner for The Knot Best of Weddings 2010. I was voted by past clients as one of the Best Wedding Photographers in the DC/MD/VA region! How awesome is this?! I am thrilled to be awarded this title and feel so blessed by my past beautiful brides who made this happen. I had no idea that I was even in the running for this award.
The publication of The Knot Best of Weddings 2010 will kick off on January 22, 2010. I will be listed in the two Virginia magazines in 2010, I get the privilege of using The Knot Best of Weddings logo and will receive a plaque to be displayed in my future office. What great confidence booster! I’ll find out more about this award as time goes on.
For each one of you who spent time filling out The Knot surveys and putting in a good word for me, thank you a million times over. I am so grateful and thankful to have had fun relationships with you! You’re the best!

Last month, I had the honor and priviledge to work with Janie Medley of the Bride’s Cafe & Marie Cooke ofRitzy Bee Events on an editorial feature for Bride & Bloom magazine. Holly Hatam at TearDrop Wedding did the invitations, Kristine Bender from K. Rose Cakes was responsible for the lovely cake, Laura Hooper Calligraphy for the artwork, Maggiano’s in Richmond, VA for the fab location, RSVP Catering for the rentals, CoCo Sala for the favors, and William Gaff of Humanstory Films.
