Tracy & Andrew, Embassy Suites, Hampton

On January 26th, I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Andrew and Tracy. Their lovely wedding took place at the Bethel Temple, while the reception kicked off at the Embassy Suites in Hampton. Tracy called me while I was shooting a destination wedding in Hawaii to see if I had her date available. I told her that I had the date available and would be honored to photograph her special day. Instantly, I knew she was the bride for me when she told me that she wanted photos taken in the streets of Mercury Blvd. She told me she wanted that “out of the box” style that I was known for. Neil Christian, Director of Catering and his staff did an amazing job with the food and overall planning of the event. Tracy and Andy, thank for a great experience. I wish the both of you and your lovely children the very best!! Click here to view a slideshow of their special day!!

Courtney Goes for the Gold!

This week I had an awesome photoshoot with Mia & Courtney. Courtney, an honor student at Hampton University, is competing for the Miss Black & Gold Pageant. The Miss Black and Gold Pageant is a scholarship pageant open to any female student who attends a school with an Alpha Phi Alpha chapter, the sponsoring fraternity. Pageant coach and mentor Mia Byrd assisted in the fashion styling, giving Courtney that high-fashion, couture look!

Armada Hoffler Celebrity Gala

On January 19th, I had the honor of photographing the grand opening of the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center gala. The festive event was to create awareness of Kyle and Pattie Petty’s, charitable organiztion, the Victory Junction Gang Camp. The Victory Junction Gang Camp enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering. The Camp was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty, in honor of their son Adam. Kurt & Eva Bush were the guest speakers and Honorary Chairpeople for the Armada Hoffler project. The Kurt Bush Foundation lends meaningful support for the betterment of organizations positively involved in the areas of health care, education, career training and rehabilitation as well as provides assistance to individuals who demonstrate need in these important areas of personal development. In benefit of the Kurt Bush foundation, J Records recording artist Gavin Degraw dazzled all 500 guests with his signature hits off of his new cd.

Julie Bernheisel, Director of Catering for the Westin, did a phenomenal job orchestrating the $300 per plate affair. Her entire staff did an amazing job keeping all of the VIP’s happy and never leaving a glass half full. I would like to personally thank Danya Bushey, Chris Harvey and the entire Armada Hoffler organization, for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
