Chef Elliott behind the scenes

The great thing about shooting food is that you get to eat it as well. So when I got the call from Nora Jumpscott, Director of Marketing at the Founders Inn, to photograph new menu items for the resort, it was a no-brainer! Chef Joseph Elliott, a native of Pittsburg, is the new chef at the Founders Inn, bringing culinary innovation like never before. Before the shoot, Chef Elliott took my assistant Beau and I on a personal tour in kitchen. Shortly after, we found ourselves munching on the buttermilk fried lobster skewers and prawns! What a tough life!! My personal favorite is the Grilled Filet of Beef and Day Prawns, accompanied with Chive Potatoe Puree, Smoked Shiitake Mushrooms with a Mojo Red Wine Sauce. if you’re looking for a wine of choice, you can’t go wrong with the 2003 Lacatus “Tempranillo”. Other items to sample are the Chesapeake Blue Crab Cakes, Seared Rock Fish, Day Aged Rack of Lamb, Apple Cider Glazed Rotisserie Poussin and the Cavatappi Pasta. If you’re looking for some great food where professionalism is of the highest standard, dine at the Swan Terrace. Tell them Keith sent you. You won’t be disappointed!!

On September 15th, I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Katrina and Daryl at Grand Affairs in Virginia Beach. The wedding was a tremendous success thanks to Helena and Jackie at Grand Affairs. Make no mistake, Pam and Cheryl are the dynamic duo that ensures all facets of the wedding go on smoothly and efficiently. Kudos to Astros DJ for bringing the heat with an assortment of R&B and jazz. Katrina and Daryl, I remember the first time we met in my office and when you came down from Maryland for your engagement session. I recall you driving down 4:00 am and meeting me at the Founders Inn. You truly made the tremendous sacrifice. It’s truly been a great experience with the both of you. Thanks for saying those nice things about your wedding photos while on your honeymoon. As you can see, we make it happen!! Thanks again for a great experience!!

Lydia & David, The Renaissance Hotel

On September 8th, I had the distinct pleasure of photographing the wedding of Lydia and David at Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, VA. The wedding was truly amazing as 4,000 people packed the church to witness Bishop Courtney McBath give away his only beloved daughter. Lydia and David were truly stunning as the lovely couple looked like they jumped off the cover of Essence magazine. When I did their engagement session a few weeks ago, I knew Dave was for real. He opened the door four times for his princess and never missing a beat. Dave, you are the man!! From the engagement session and bridal shoot, I was able to get to know this dynamic couple personally and capture their love as it unfolded. It was magical!! Special thanks to Lauren Peoples and her team of professionals at the Renaissance for doing a superb job catering the needs of over 475 guests. Special thanks to the wedding coordinator Vickie who did a masterful job with the timelines and overall execution. Bishop and Pastor Jeneen Mcbath, thanks for trusting me to capture your daughter’s special day. Click here to view their slideshow!!
