Let’s Go Mets!!

This week is a busy week for me. I have two big weddings on Saturday and Sunday. So what do I do on Friday? Drive to Washington, D.C. to cover the Mets/Nationals game!! Beau, my assistant had the honors in joining me in a opportunity of a lifetime in covering a major league game. I was kind of jealous when I saw some of Beau’s photos. I didn’t want to tell him at thetime but he was getting the “money shots”. The money shot is when you catch the action before it unfolds. Beau doesn’t know it yet but I plan to take him to a subway series game in the Bronx between the Mets and the Yankees. I love my job!!!

Sarah & Tim

Sarah an Tim Perkins exchanged vow on April 21 at Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA. Their reception was held at the prestigious Town Point Club in downtown Norfolk. Having photographed their engagement session and Sarah’s bridal portrait, I got a chance to really get to know this amazing couple. Wedding coordinator Pearl Taylor ensured nothing short of perfection, while Misty Lucero and her staff displayed tremendous professionalism at the TPC. Sarah and Tim, thank you for trusting me to document your special day. Here are just a few of my favorites. The best is yet to come!! Click here to view their awesome wedding!!

Hampton Roads Magazine Cover!

When I went into David Uhrin’s office, the art director for Hampton Roads Magazine, I had a funny feeling. He was explaining to me how the process works for selecting the cover. Dave shared with me that the selection is chosen by a panel of editors and the publisher. He baited me in by saying, “if you don’t get the cover don’t get discouraged. We have to be mindful of our demographics, viewers, blablabla.” Then he showed me the cover. Yes!!!!! Shooting a cover gives a photographer so much credibility than words can explain. I owe alot of credit to my dear friend and photographer colleague Veronica Dana (another awesome dam photographer) for introducing me to Dave and the magazine about a year ago. Veronica Dana photographed the previous cover of the magazine and did an awesome job. Kudos to my office manager Shalanda and publicist Dawn. They keep me organized while creating the “buzzzzz” at the same time. basis. My girls are great! Their efforts have resulted in our photos being featured in America’s Bride Magazine, Vow, Hrwedding Guide, Destination Weddings, and a host of others in 07. In the next few days, I will be adding a new gallery called “press”. This gallery will consist of editorial features, magazine layouts and covers or any media related news concerning Keith Cephus. Kudos to my intern Sarah. I can’t say enough things about this amazing young lady. She assisted me on this project from beginning to end. Sarah, thank you! I tell you, when it rains it pours. I just got a call today to find out I got a book cover as well. Bishop Courtney McBath is coming out with a leadership book this spring and is using one of our photos on the cover. God is good!!!!

Kim & Bobby’s E-session

This engagement session was not just another engagement session. It was a sensual and at times it was sexual. My lovely NYC couple Kim and Bobby, who will be getting married in New York in October, wanted a romantic session, showing off their beautiful bodies. The dynamic couple are in training for an upcoming bodybuilding competition. When they get back, I will do something a little more conservative for their “save the date” invites!!
